The deeper i get in to this hobby/sport the more i find myself looking up videos a such. I see alot about flipping an pitching. Should i get a set up just for that? RIght now i use 2 rods a 7ft med action for my cranks/spinners and a 6 6 med action for my soft plastics. for my cranks/spinners I have 10lbs red mono for my soft baits i use a 10 lbs braid I plan on using a 30-50 lbs braid for flipping does that sound right? :chain :taz

If u are hitting the heavy stuff/wood piers/concrete/thick weeds... I would go with the 30lb+ braid but any lighter cover I use 20lb.The smaller diameter cuts through the lighter weeds with not much trouble.

A good 7/7.6 foot rod in a heavy or med/hvy action works well but a lot depends on what type of stuff u fish. You can buy a reel for flip or pitchin but with practice any reel will work.

On 1 set up I have 8lb braid for fishing very light cover, spooky fish or flippin under docks that I feel safe using 8lb line under.

And if u pitch in a pocket and miss the fish or he can't find the bait pull the bait out and toss in a bulky plastic and just shake it.Add rattles or glass for sound and just give the fish a few minutes to locate your lure.I love busting heavy mat with a bulky jig n pig then to toss back a lightly weighted plastic..keep your eyes open for movement under the cover for fish trying to find the bait and be ready.
