I grew up near west palm and we were still too far north to have peacock bass but when I was about 13 I got invited by some family friends down to coral spring to do some peacock bass fishing! We caught at least a few dozen! Sight casting live shinners. Still to this day they were the funnest fresh water fish I've ever chaught. I'd love to get down there again some day. Good catch never have got a carp.

We've got some HUGE carp in the lake behind my office. When I say huge, I'm not talking 20-30#. I'm talking 40-48" carp bigger around than a volleyball. Of course, "Uncle Walt" don't allow you to fish there. I've never seen one on a scale, but I did see a bald eagle take one a few years ago out of there. It was hysterical. That eagle swooped down and tried to snatch one out. He was lucky that the water was shallow, but it took him about 15 minutes to get the carp out of the water and on to the bank. Then he proceeded to strut back and forth for what seemed like an hour before he ate his fill. Almost like he was sayin "See that? Did you SEE that?! Who's ur daddy?"

Congrats on the grass carp. I always see them swim away from me. Any particular reason why it ate the bread. I mean do people nearby feed bread to ducks?
