na never noticed dull hooks.. even walmars sells good hooks.. what happened.. the bas had it and figured out it was fake and started to spit it out before she yanked the pole to set the hook.. Then they are barely hooked on the lip and can shake that off if it dont pass the barb.
It was me that had the fish just felt like kicking her in lmao jk how hard should I yank to set the hook? I just do a short tug than start reeling should I really yank On it?
my fish usually just break it away.. if your reeling it in fast like with a rattle trap it will feel like you just got snagged.. your good.. trouble hooks are always a mess in the bass's mouth and hardly ever lose a bass to a trouble hook.. If your reeling in slow and feel a tug just stop .. wait a sec then rail back on.. sometimes if they get a taste and spit it out that bass is done with you.. Are you using braid line? Braid line gets the most feeling as your are pulling the lure in.. With braid you can even feel when your lure passes a piece of grass.
I use braid but on that rod and reel nothing has bit but I get more actions on a abu garica reel with I think a vertex rod with 8lb ragin Cajun line
Crock, they're called "treble" hooks, not "trouble" hooks. "Treble" means "three", and a "treble hook" is three hooks in one.
