I know that most the fishing photos on this forum will be warm water fish but I had to post a pic of a trout I took yesterday in my native CO.

This is a brown trout. It was 26 inches long and weighed right at 7 and a half pounds. It hit a 00 silver MEPPS spinner attached to 2 lb line on an ultra-light spinning rod. I took this fish at Monarch Lake at an altitude of slightly more than 9000 feet. It was a good time!

Cheers :cowboy

I never caught a brown, but we caught some cut-throats when I was out there. On the property we hunted, there was a pond the farmer made off of a creek. He told us to catch what we wanted for dinner. A guy in our camp prepared them. Just gutted and stuck a stick thru them, and cooked over an open fire.
Some of the best fish I have ever eaten in my life.

Googling the lake you mentioned, looks like I was west of you outside of Steamboat (Hayden)

Barbless, 3 lb tippets, fly fishing one day I hooked a 12" rainbow, as I started to retrieve it the soundtrack from JAWS started playing, the weeds along the bank started parting and a 5+ lb 24" brown grabbed my rainbow & I netted both. Believe it or not. Brookies are still my favorite.
