Was browsing thru the WMA's that have small game season coming up. Thinking about a get together on one of them in February. Was thinking Upper Hillsborough since it is kind of centrally located in the state.
Here are the regs for small game:

Small game season:
February 16-17, 23-24 and March 2-3.
Permit, Stamp and License Requirements - Daily quota permit, hunting license, management area permit and migratory bird permit (if hunting migratory birds).
Legal to Hunt - Wild hog, gray squirrel, quail, rabbit, raccoon, opossum, armadillo, beaver, coyote, skunk, nutria and migratory birds in season. Bobcat and otter through March 1.
Regulations Unique to Small Game Season - In addition to these regulations, all General Area Regulations shall apply. Hunting with archery equipment or firearms, other than shotguns, is prohibited.

I highlighted the weekend I was thinking of. The first weekend I cannot go as I have pre plans. And the last weekend, my wife turns the big 4-0, and am planning a shin~dig for her
What do yall think of putting something together? I kinda want it to be a kid friendly hunt, meaning try to bring your kid.
I had the quota hunt there this weekend and checked out the camp ground. It's 100% primative. It's not that big but ok Didn't even see a porta john, but it's free.
Yall let me know and if so I will put something together. We could also do Croom or Citrus also, but there are really no hogs in there. Upper Hills is loaded. I have another quota coming up in there plus I am going as a guest on another so I can find us a honey hole

I'd be willing to go and help out. It would be shotgun only? Isn't it a daily quota thing, and during small game is it hard to get them? Do you know if they allow campfires? If so, do you have to bring your own wood?

Well, I need to put this on the shelf for now. My wife's mother is pretty ill so I hate to plan anything in advance right now
