Went to Osceola Forrest Friday morning. Checked into Ocean Pond Camp Ground and went scouting for deer. Friday afternoon found a Great Spot with Plenty of deer sign and Huge foot prints. Went there Saturday morning at first light and found somebody else already found my new place. This seems to be the story of my life.
screw them hunt it anyway. same happened to me in ocala last 2 yrs. i hunted anyway, and had a beautiful buck chase a doe to my tree stand, he did not give me a clean shot, but the other hunters in the same area never heard or saw him. wish i woulda created a shot, as that is the only deer i have ever seen from my stand.
early bird gets the worm esp on public land. on sun am 5:30 I had someone cursing real loud " F'ing A-H**e" assuming at me cuz I was hunting a ladder stand I bought and installed on private land where I'm supposed to be the only one there, and I had been sitting there at least an hour before he showed up. lit him up with that remmington lcd headlamp and he shut right up and snuck away. still trying to figure out who he was/how he got there as it's way back and a long way from where anyone could park. maybe just some crazy homeless living in the woods?
nacho, crazy homless people living in the woods often have immaginary friends. maybe the two of them got into an argument about the last drop of deet. good luck and be safe
x2 on early bird gets the worm on public land. Get there early and flash your light at anyone coming your way. Shouldn't have much issues. Get there late, don't be surprised if someone is in your spot. Seems like it doesn't matter how remote you think your spot is, there is always someone else that knows about it too.... That's why it's always good to have a back up spot in mind.
