That is your opinion, and that is all it is. You just continue to over look the facts because you do not like them. That is fine If you do not want some one on your land than make sure you have it legally posted. Like the law requires you to do. I was just trying to help a guy out. I should have kept it to myself. Than every one had to call me out on this one. I proved the case, and have backed it up with statutes on the subject, and a letter from a Captain in the FWC. Its all right I am sure you are a good fellow FLDXT, and this post took a bunch of turns. I am sure we have all learned some things from it. That is what forums like this are for. The best scenario is to have permission to hunt private land, but you can not bash a guy if he hunts property like this. Since it is legal. I would definately do my home work, and ask my local LEO about it before plunging in.

I started reading this on another forum a few days ago and decided to check it out in my area. Before I go any farther I want to say that I personally believe that you should get permission first. It took me 1 hour on the web to get all the contact info to contact a few owners of land down here right behind my house that is vacant and ridden on all the time. Over the weekend the place is covered up with 4 wheelers and I figure I can hit it during the week after work.

I was driving one day a couple months ago and passed the GW so I turned around and caught up with him. I asked him about this area cause I had heard that you could hunt there. He told me that it was legal and that only a handfull of people did it. He said as long as it's not posted or fenced I could hunt it. He even went so far as to give me his # to call when I wanted to go out there and he would show me where he sees the most sign. :clap

I decided to take a ride out there the other day and found plenty of sign. On Monday I'll call him and the couple land owners and head out there for a few spots. It's about 1500 acres and almost all wetlands but there are some good looking pine heads. Plus I might even come across a python out here. There have been a couple reported within a 1/2 mile of my house. :chain

Tree farming land does not need to be posted,if there are 5 acer parcels, wet land set aside as midgation areas. the list goes on. Game warden told that if you don't own it or have written permission then stay out. Maybe a trip to jail mite do some one some good, who thinks they can just where they think they can. :bbq
