Anyone ever hunt there before? Since my new lease borders it I was thinking of checking it out. I checked FWC and can't find anywhere where you have to enter through a check station. It does say that during the 1st 16 days of GG that you have to check any deer at the check station but that's all I can find. Other WMA's say you have to enter through the check station but not here. Just don't want to be "that guy" doing it all wrong. Thinking that I could cross over and have access to another piece to check out. :rockon

Osceola is one of those wma's where you gotta "go deep" to get away. Its one of the few that allow atv's. They kill some really big deer in there, but I believe it is the guys that do their homework that get them....Sorr I am not much more help. Hopefully Huntingfool will chime in about it. He was in a lease that bordered it a few years back

I think the member called Stonehenge was talking about hunting it this past season. He's from up around Jacksonville.

I have hunted there a few times last season. I started toward the end of the season so I never paid attention to were any check stations were. The place is huge. Lots and lots of land. I found some rubs and tracks both hog and deer but never saw anything. I probably had about 5 total hunts. I am new to hunting so I didn't realy know what to do. One thing I realy liked was there is a camp spot with showers, bathrooms, electric, and water hookup for about $7-10 a night. There are other primitive camps that are free. Another plus was the only time I ever saw other hunters was at camp (may have been because it was towards the end of the season). There is a free shooting range with up to 200 yard targets. I will be hunting there a lot this coming season and have a couple spots in mind. I agree with Iluv2hunt, you have to go deep. Thats what I plan on doing next season. Also if anyone ever wants to hunt/scout let me know. I am always looking for someone to partner up with so I can learn something.
