You all need to pay attention to dates. The hunting season was shifted by a couple of weeks in the Green Swamp. The 9 days now will be during thanksgiving week. Which means the crowds will not be allowed to hunt and make all that racket as normal.
It should be a peaceful week for hunting especially the weekend when it was normally nuts out there.
As for camping - during archery most of the drawn campsites are empty all season. About 1/3 are actually used. So this makes sense.

i think the guy at the staition issues you a permit for 1st come 1st serve and the other 39 lets you know you have a spot for sure. but every time i go out there( which is alot) the campsite is never full.

Season long IMO. First 9 days campground is packed. After that, not a lot of people. I usually spend 11 days during gun opening, 9 days in December and every weekend from archery to spring turkey. You have no idea how many times I was the only soul staying at the campground, but all campsites “were taken”. My guess is that more people will have the opportunity to camp, which is good.

How were they taken? Did the station gave out a camping permit for the entire season to someone who never used it or used it only once?
