It's safe to wash out open wounds to.

Some people are like Slinkies ... not really good for anything, but you can't help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Yeah, but carrying around a goat just to wash a wound is pretty drastic, when bottled water is so easy to find! :toast
