scalding and scrapinf a hog.

Well did the sow she was 200 lbs a good 2 inches of fat.
Removing the hair was easy. placed her on the picnic table 25 gallons of boiling water about 220 degrees. used a towel and poured water over the towel. Took about 30- 40 minuets with two of us scrapping. This was our first time.

A paint scarper worked well the two handed type. I have photos soon.

If you didn't have a beer in your hand yall would have had it scraped in 20 minutes. :cheers

Well we experimented being the first time we ever scraped the hair off. If I did not have a beer in my hand I might not have such a big beer belie.
We did find with the towel, pour the hot water and let it rest 10-15 seconds then scrap. Also the water temp needs to be 220 + is good, basically the water is boiling good. Never had a problem with hair setting.
