I'm looking to get a smoker and was wondering if anyone has a brand or model they like. I think I want an electric model not gas unless the gas does a much better job.
ive got a char broil brand h20 style smoker for sale its a smaller one that kinda is shaped like r2d2
I like the Masterbuilt 30" electric smoker. Works like a champ. Generally about $200 at Lowes but you can catch them on sale at Cabelas/Bass Pro/Gander Mtn for $150ish on occasion.

Seriously, you need to think about how much meat you plan on doing at a time, to determine size.
Also one thing to keep in mind. If you get a gas, you can take it camping with you. Electric you can't
Electric is okay if you don't plan on smoking anything when the temps are below 50! Couple years ago I planned to smoke some Turkey breasts for Thanksgiving. It dropped into the 30s overnight and didn't get above 45 all day, a d the wind was blowing right at my porch where I plugged in the smoker. After 4 hours it still was only at 140*. I ended up unplugging it and putting charcoal in the bottom around the heating element!
