so that 2nd pic is a true scratch box?, no paddle handle attatched to use as a striker? my 30 y/o yankee box call has been cracked for a couple seasons now. I keep trying to patch it up and get another year out of it but I suppose I got my moneys worth from it. I've been wanting to make a wingbone striker forever, #1 on the hunting to do list. any recomendations on an aftermarket turkey choke? I was looking at seminole 0.65" gobblin thunder? for a benelli sbe 12 ga and will use #5 or 6 shot in 3-3 1/2"

Not sure if you worded it wrong or not. The wingbone is not a striker, but a complete call in itself.
They are fairly easy to make, but kinda hard to use. A hen makes the best sounding call. A jake a close second. Gobbler wing calls don't sound the best, they are more of a novelty and a remembrance of the hunt. Some of these guys around the internet get real fancy with engraving and drawings on the calls. I can't even see that small

NOPE, thought it might be used both ways. glad I never made one from a gobblers wing, never knew it made a diff.
