should be steadier and more comfortable to hold at ready for longer periods of time. thats why I went for the pistol gripped rifle stock, but it's hard to fit in many gun cases. better suited for turkey and slugs.

I have a shooting stick I made out of PVC that I carry in my turkey vest. Just the perfect height for me sitting on my turkey stool. Its about 2.5' long and I just made a V on each end, one to set on the ground, and the other to rest the gun barrel in. Every muscle in my body got a charlie horse a few years ago, waiting on a gobbler to close the distance, and me trying to hold the shotgun up

redneck ingenuity. been there, resting the gun on my knee until it dug in something fierce, good idea. I've heard of guys using a knee pad to rest the gun on.

Ditto on the Nitro loads. If you go on the Nitro website they have tested a lot of guns with choke and shell combos. I have a Mossberg 835 with a Jellyhead choke and use Nitro 4x5x7 blended load. I misjudged the distance on one last year and shot him at 57 steps and turned his head to mush.
