Saturday morning-In the woods sitting in blind @6Am. Started some soft tree yelping at 7. At 7:15 the crows started and 2 birds started firing off about 100 yards down the creek. I heard them pitch down and the hens started cutting. They took him the other way, away from us and in a hurry.

Sunday morning- Set up in the same creek bottom, but about 500 yards down from Saturday. Had a feeling one would be roosted in a little triangle spot I have(cypress pond/planted pines/open hammock all meet together). It was raining pretty hard too. At 7:15 (still really dark down in the hammock) I let out a nice soft tree yelp. Got a response about 60-70 yards from me right where I expected. He pitched out and less than 30 seconds he bout ran into my lap. Couldn't see him till he was about 5 yards from me. He saw me, turned to run and I let a load fly at about 7 yards as he was running away. Blew feathers out of him, and he ran off down the hammock, then got up and flew

Today- Wind howling a steady 30. Slept in a bit. Got out there, walked into another creek bottom at gray light. Found a big oak tree on the edge of the creek. Sat down, looked on edge of creek up about 50' and see a bird sitting there. Bird sat on roost till after 8AM, never said a word. when he finally flew down, and I was a little too impatient, I guess he was a little to far when I shot. Never cut a feather on him. He got back up and flew off
