so today was my first day of my turkey hunt in chass. all is good got there at 5am and walked about a mile and a half to the spot where i had scouted some toms. got everything set up because i was planning on sittin there till 1. about 615 started hitting the owl call to make sure the boys where up. now there roost was about 100 yards up the firebreak from where i was. everything is looking good. im sitting on a mound of dirt that edges a water ditch so im up higher than the palms. i see the toms flydown about 730. there roost is in between two firebreaks and they seem togo down the one im not on. so i sat there and waited cause a good friend told me that they might come back. 10am i look down the firebreak and here is some :ahole driving his big white van down the firebreak :2fingers. stops when he see the decoy and then keeps on comin. so i wave at him. :nono... he waves and keeps driving. the firebreak ends just about a 100 yards past where i sitting. i watch him turn around and starts heading back. he stops and tells me that he was sorry and that he just saw three toms up the road...... i tryed to be nice and didnt go off. but thats not even the bad part when i went to check out the guy told me that i was the only one checked in to hunt!!!!!!!! i dont understand!! i had the whole place to myself and some :ahole drives right up on me.
Gotta get out of the roads.
That really sucks...but yea you should not hunt right on the roads, unless that road is closed then the guy is a :ahole x2
the road is closed to all vechicular traffic. and well with only 10 people that got quotas and 33,900 acres to hunt. it wouldnt be a problem hunting a closed road a mile and a half from the main road.
Now that would make a big difference. You must be a very nice person,I personally would have had that guy praying to his God.
