Well we went scouting on a piece of public land today and heard a ton of birds. We were standing in a opening and fldoug and I hit a call to see if I could get one to hollar back at us nothing was heard so we walked about 300 yards to another wood kine and out in the pasture this guy was coming in walking to where we called which was 300 yards from where we filmed this. We were behind a palmetto clump and he could not see us but knew there was two black blobs behind it. I will be guiding a guy from louisianna opening morning trying to kill him for sure. He has a set of hooks on him. Fldoug did a awesome job behind the camera
That's a great video. I don't think he is going to make it to the fall season.
Great video
In your experience, do you find it difficult to call a bird a second time, after you have called him pre-season?
Ive heard its a no-no, because it educates the bird. And Ive also heard it doesn't matter, because they have a very short term memory.
Preseason, I do 99% listening, and 1% calling just to locate birds
How do you guide on a non-transferable permit?
Quit foolin'... that was your pet bird. :shifty
Seriously, will the cows be out there when you hunt? How do you deal with them being in the background if a shot presents itself?
