good stuff! i was hiking ocala long before i hunted it milkman, and one particular time i was standing on a ridge, and down in a saddle must have been 15 birds. they were in a spot where 3 types of terrain was, old growth pine, new growth pine, and a clear cut, and the were walking between the new and old pines. they were just making a racket, purring, cutting, clucking, gobbling i have never heard noise like that come out of the birds in green swamp or upper hills. and that day is part of why i got into hunting, teaching myself how to call, and hunt.
Turkeys will grab you and they won't let go. Have you read the tenth legion? I think you would enjoy it.
no i have not, i will have to check it out!
Oh you have to. I read it twice every year. If you can't find a copy you can borrow mine.
Hunted and camped at Lake Del. many years. Most of the turkeys I have seen(deer season) were walking down the roads. Both off of 19 and 88. Never saw one in the woods.
