Got a relatively inexpensive wood lathe from HF to turn some pots and who knows what else...

Came across a turkey tube yelper, first I've heard of em.

Seemed to be not to awfully difficult to make so here goes 🙂

First project on the lathe...turkey tube yelper.

And I forgot to cut in the groove for the o-ring that holds the latex reed in place on the right side....rats! Have to figure something out.

It's 3 1/2 in long, birdseye maple.

nice, you could probly make up some nice striker handles also. I'm thinking waterproof like glass/plexi,ceramic etc.

Thanks Nacho..and for the ideas 🙂

All done. Darkened it up a bit and took some sheen off.

College kid right as usual, you gonna use it or hang it on the mantel!

Just gotta get an old latex glove....and can somebody tell me how to use it ?

as a former RN, I've heard all the rubber glove jokes, so I'll leave em for others. any chain pharmacy should have them as well as sams club/walyworld. I prefer the powdered nitrile XL's even better if you can find them. you may not need a full glove just some finger cots, like little Chinese condoms that go up to the 2nd knuckle, they make great gag gifts too.

A mini...2 1/2 in.

Just trying to get use to the lathe. Simple to turn....just boring them out is the PITA.

Anybody use this type call?
