Well last year I had the pleasure of taking my Daddy turkey hunting for the first time . We doubled up on opening morning and then again on the third weekend . Well needless to say he's been waiting for this weekend to come. Sat morning we got set up and waited for daylight. As the woods were coming to life it was sounding fairly quiet so gave a couple owl hoots and low and behold we had one fire up behind us but WAY behind us. So long story short ,after a little calling I had him at about 10 feet from our back. We were backed up to the property line which was over grown with weeds so he couldn't see the decoys at first and just stood behind us gobbling. After a few minutes he made a loud put and took off flying , I thought he was gone until I saw him fly over our heads and landed right at the decoys .(That was a first for me). Seconds later Pops did his part and and had his third bird a flopping . Now his turkey hunting career consists of 3 hunts and 3 birds. Not to shabby but I think he may be getting a little spoiled . I just thank God for letting us enjoy this time together in his great outdoors . http://fohaf.com/phpBB 3/download/file.php?mode=view&id=6844

I've been trying to put pops on a bird for the last few years and always like hunting goes most of the time it is a hit or a miss. sometime we get on a bird sometimes we don't. A kill or not it's always time well spent.
