Went hunting yesterday afternoon and scored. First I saw a huge red hog feeding down a citrus row and get about 120 yards from it and decided to take a shot. The wind was swirling around so I didn't want to try to get closer. Well I shot high, twice. 😆 shooting free hand. I decided to sit and wait and soon after we were surrounded by hogs. I shot a nice sow at 30 yards and and ran off. I looked to my right and a much larger sow was walking in circles. I pulled up and shot her also. She fell to the ground then jumped up and ran off screaming. The 243 let me down this time. I couldn't find either so I returned this morning and found the smaller sow (100 pounds gutted) within 50 yards of the spot. I searched for about an hour for the other with no luck.
And all cleaned up
Piggy lost some weight in that last pic! 😆
She didn't have any piglets with her?
hey man shootem right here i've never had one go further that straight down exept maybe over sideways. but i've shot all my mine with a 308 or 12 gauge 00 buck (00 never over 25 yards and 90% of the time to the head) so i dont know how the 243 will do, but the spot is the ticket. with the darkest red part being the spot i am talking about.
Good Job 🙂

I hear you I've shot about a dozen this year that didn't move a few feet if that. And my shot placement is on point but some hogs have more heart then others. I droped my last big sow with my 243 within 6 feet of shooting her. You never know with hogs minus breaking out my 7mm mag and blowing half the hog away. 😆
