They have been here for years. Just the media making a big deal out of nothing AGAIN. I don't know how true it is but have heard some say that if there hair has split ends then it is a russian or has russian in it. I have seen split ends on hogs plenty of times but don't pay that much attention. Here is a russian bar came from the Suwannee River.

I thought the split ends just meant they needed a new shampoo and conditioner!

My nephew works for FWC and he's killed some Russian-looking hogs out at Tenoroc. They have been told to shoot any hogs they see and just leave them for the buzzards.

Teneroc as in the fishing management area? If so I have seen some BIG hogs out there fishing, also my dad is a mail rural carrier and hes seen huge hogs cross through saddle creek midday in front of traffic. Im sure you know where saddle creek is, and thats right in the area of teneroc as well. They should have a qouta bow hunt for teneroc every year for hogs, I dont see why not.

Yep, that Teneroc. He works out there sometimes with the fisheries division.

Wow, I've never seen a hog fishing -do they prefer spinning reels or baitcasters? LOL :fish

Sorry, that part of your post struck me funny and made me laugh at the mental picture!

I have seen a lot of babys that were striped like a true wild boar, but I seen them over 20 years ago. Hogs are hogs. An escaped hamshire will go wild and survive and breed whatever it can. I've seen them with big thick mains in a bunch of colors, some with very little hair, some with wattles on their throats. All them t.v. shows on discovery are a load of B.S. any hog in the woods will tear up everything loking for food. It seems the red spotted ones seem to be the meanest out of the ones I've messed with.

See my thread in the hog hunting section titled "spike", or something like that from last season. I had one on camera last year that had that "mane". Ive killed a hundred that had it, nothing new

For instance i hike upper hillsborough all the time. see pigs on regular basis. now there is a guy off chancey road that has a granite place and a little land. he has brought in russians for people to hunt. and he damn near backs up to uh. there willl def be some interbreeding. i stopped and talked to this guy one sat, and he showed me these russians. very nasty. the piglets will have a forked tail, and stripes. In upper hills i have seen everything from russian looking hybrids, to escaped farm pigs. There is a sow i almost took a couple yrs back that must be 200# and she is pink. That day she had a pure black boar with her and a bunch of brown n black piglets. i ended up with a couple shoats that ran at my ankles outta the swamp. shot em like birds on the wing. but back to topic these hybrids and russians are already all over our state. wish they would open up some limited # hunts at tenoroc.
