Well me and Iluv2hunt scouted yesterday put out corn, put up trail cams, a ladder stand and decided where is a good place to put the climber (didnt have it yesterday so could not put it up.)..
So this morning i picked up Iliv2hunt, He went to the ladder stand and i went out and walked in to where (the climber should of been) lol. Didnt want to make too much noise early in the morning so i just walked in and sat for about an hour. Within the first 10 mins saw a huge hog running through the woods like it was the last day of his life.. lol.. Then i look up and see 3 deer looking at me from about 25 yards. They just stand there then 1 more comes walking up to them then another one joins the party. Couldnt tell if they were bucks or does but they were really good size for florida. They all stopped and stared at me as i sit still.. I just slowley reached up to itch my nose and i was busted and they were gone.
Went across the property to another place where we put out corn. Nothing was touched. So then i went back to truck got the climber. Then i walked back into the woods and made tons of noise putting it up. Got it up and sat there for about 20 mins to make sure it was stable then Iluv2hunt comes walking up and we packed it up and left.
All in all it was a good day. Saw more game today then my whole year hunting on the wmas last year. Weird.
These deer that feed on ole ladys rose bushes have some fat on them.
Since you left I went to Lowes and got PVC and made 2 gravity feeders. I will get them out and filled this week
Man Im glad we got this property. Ill post some pics later of the game trails. It is unreal
If you have alot of deer you might want to switch from corn to fish food. The hogs will eat it but the deer wont. It's also cheaper.
I'll betcha deer would eat it too. 😉
The reason I say this is 2 years ago we had a guy in our lease who brought up about 35 bags of dog food(various brands). We put that out for hogs cause we have a hog problem.
I sat there and watched deer chowing down on dog food 😯
I was ready for them to start barking at any time
The record rack deer nuggets are pretty much the same thing
