Sorrry it has taken so long to put up my hunt, but here it is. We were headed in to the spot that John was going to set me up at and guess what was up in the tree. Yep someone set up on the trail were we were going so it was to plan B. We went back to the main trail in and went down a little more. We came to a small wash in the trail that had a number of hog trails in the palmettos, so he tild me to set up off to the side and wait. I had palmettos to my back and a small tree/bush to my left. Yes I sat there on my bucket 😀 and caught my breath. It sucks being fat and out of shape. Before John left me there he told me to listen I would hear smaller game and bird in the palmettos but when the hag's come around you will hear some snorting. As I'm sitting there I here I hear people comming down the trail. I wave to them as they pass. At about a hour into my sit I went and moved my gun from one hand to the next and something just on the other side of the tree/bush jumped. I thought maybe a rabbit because I did not hear any other noise. I stood up and looked to my left and there she stood 25 to 30 feet away. I raised my shotgun and took aim just behind her right shoulder. She knew I was there she was looking right at me. I squeezed the trigger and she move. :censored not a clean kill so I reloaded got 10ft from her and but a second in her. I reloaded and stood there a min. and thought to myslef good she is down. I headed back tothe trucks to get the game cart and yes I was winded. So John was like stay here I'll go get it. And now I know how tuff hog's really are. John got there and she had moved into the palmetto's. john had to but the final shot in. 😳
I want to give a big thanks to John for setting me up and not letting the hog get away. :clap John is the man.
