I grew up hunting Tide Swamp
Back in the day it was a sure nuff tuff place to hunt. There is basically 3 roads total in the place. The main road that goes to Dallas creek ramp, the "loop" that covers the south end, and Tide city main line that runs North. There are a TON of smaller roads that are (now) closed off to vehicles. Back in the day they were all open to vehicles, and you could lose a vehicle in mud holes in them
They made a park out of the place, and you can drive a sedan on all the roads. The S end is mostly select cut pines with huge palmetto flats and oak hammocks & bay heads. The N goes from a sand pine ridge to one of the most beautiful oak/cabbage hammocks you will ever lay eyeballs on. I haven't hunted it in a number of years. But me and the family rode thru there this summer and we saw a couple herds and tons of rootin
I would get down one of the tram roads that goes to the marsh grass and wait for high tide. As the tide recedes, the hogs hit the marsh grass to eat fiddler crabs. You can only hunt to the tree line now, but back int he day you could hunt all the way to the water line
Salt creek tram would be where I would start.......
I am genuinely praying that the storms roll through the night and the rain is light in the morning. The piggies might hunker down through the storm and come out in the morning tomorrow.
I sure don't want to be rained out on this.

Just saw this and looked at radar. Wish we could get a soaking down here. It has been a VERY dry winter
My son got his hog.
We were out by the sawgrass and sae tons of rootin and tracks. Even though we got to tide swamp 45 minutes before Sunrise, we didn't get a good spot til late. About lunchtime we decided to head out and come back later closer to sunset.
On the way out, we saw a couple in the field East of the boat ramp. They were about 75-100 yards.
Ain't no trophy. .. But being it's my sons first. . It's a trophy for him
