I posted on another forum about this"my views" and boy did it stir some sheetza up! To me there is never a reason for a mass kill and waste of any usable resource. We all know most or all the animals could be donated to feed the hungry programs plus the public eye see's the big bad hunters as a blood luster.Again this is only my POV!!

Your wrong on that one Lamehawk. Hogs are full of diseases so you really shouldn't donate them unless the people fully understand that. If they're handled or cooked improperly they can make somebody real sick. They're also an imported feral animal, they take food from native species, they'll eat turkey nests, they destroy trees, plants, crops, and the landscape. They can make deer hunting really suck if there's to many around your area also. Now saying all that, they are fun to hunt. The only reason the state doesn't erradicate them completely is because they bring in revenue from hunters. On private property sometimes they should be treated like vermin, shoot I know places in Ga and even in Fl. where they had nite hunting permits for deer because of crop damage.

in the description it says that one hog causes $1400 in crop damage in its lifetime, i think that may be on the lite side. they are not killing just to kill, they probably pay these guys a drop in the bucket compared to the damage that is being done. shooting prarie dogs is the same concept and no one complains that the meat is wasted. i think it would be fun to shoot the pigs, let them lay and then go back that night or the next and shoot the yotes.

I do understand the hog problem as a nuisance animal and we all have killed and eaten wild or feral hogs which under guide lines they could be used for food. For shooting pdogs they are NOT and have not been a food source animal for hunters to shoot.I do also understand crop damage and how it effects crops overall.I would think in this day and age we as responsible hunters could look at things with a better view.As said my POV!
