I had a good & bad hunt this morning. Everything goes well and got to spot on time. On the walk in hear a hog in deep grass, but out of sight!. He and a couple of his buddies, that I didn't hear at first, walked off towards back of property. I quietly walked around to head them off. I could hear them screem real close, but out of sight! As they moved along unbothered, I walked way ahead and across the ditch ahead of them. Just as I get out of sight, they crash thru the ditch and off thrw the next field. Damn there fast! Again I kinda haul ass to get ahead, but staying quiet. They ended up being around 200yds ahead of me in no time. They were just moving happily along. So into the corner grove they go, that must have been the best place for hog breakfest cause all I could here is gruntin/screemin. After covering the 200 or so yards. You guess it, they moved off, but out of sight!. Loud as hell the whole way. After pushing ahead of them finally I made my way acress rows and sloughs. All of a sudden they stop moving away from me, but at me. Loud as hell, one fat sow walks out of the palmettos. 150lb. 15yds. :clap Shaking like a mother, I slap triger, shot and missed. Again... :pinch
When will I learn to slow down my shot. :hammer Anyways, I must have broke up the party cause about 12 to 15 hogs tore off in all directions. Wouldn't you've guessed it, within seconds they we all out of sight! O'well, next time :rambo

You either need to get down wind so they don't run off from you or practice shooting. My brother has a similar problem,he has no patience when he see's game. He shoots as soon as he see's them instead of letting them get close.
