So Close!!

Took my 10y/o out in the woods for some small game hunting last weekend. She wouldn't let me shoot the squirrels that were running around us. (They are still cute to her)
As we were walking around, we bumped two hogs that were 15 yards from us. All I had was my 20g single shot (my small game gun) and didn't have one chambered! By the time I got the buckshot loaded, they had run off into the thick stuff and got away... So close!!!

Fast forward to today, I went out by myself hoping to run into them again. No dice! I had a few squirrels at point blank range, but I didn't shoot cause I wanted to find the hogs. Went home empty handed... Took a quick nap and then headed back out around 4 today.
I was set on coming home with something... 2 squirrels made the mistake of showing themselves. The 20g barked and down went the squirrels...
As I was driving out I look over in the freshly mowed field and see a 40lb hog. I jump out and load some buckshot and get within 20 yards.. By this time it was about 2 minutes after legal shooting light and I could barely see a black hog. I almost shot but didn't want to take a chance on getting a ticket for shooting after dark... So close!!!
Oh well.. Hopefully I'll get another chance next weekend!
