Shot one today. Went to work this morning for a few hours and decided to hunt afterwords. With it being so cold this morning I forgot my tree stand, and camo. But said oh well and gave it a try anyhow. Got there at about 11:00 and sat on a bucket about 18 yards away from the feeder. Had two squirrels pissing me off (eating all the corn) so I kept getting up and throwing stuff at them. About 20 Min's later the squirrels hauled azz. Four little hogs I trapped earlier came running up under the feeder shortly followed by a nice sow ( the second biggest in pic #1). She was quartered away from me, so I took a shot. It appeared to be a perfect shot at that! The arrow was sticking out of her and she sped off. About 10 feet from the shot she snagged the arrow on a vine and it pulled it the rest of the way Thew her. Blood every were!!!! I waited 30 Min's and started to track her. It was not hard, their was a heavy blood trail. She ran across a small creek witch threw me off for a few minuets, but picked up the trail shortly after. The next hour was spent crawling threw peppers trees and vines. I got to a clearing and saw the big boar and the babies feeding. And could hear a another hog grunting in the pepper trees. So I kept following the blood and there she was laying down under the thickest crap. She was still breathing (slowly) and not running away. I figured she was done! I sat down and waited about 20 Min's. Then the wind changed, she staggered to her feet and walked 10 feet of so. Keep in mind she was about 20 feet from the golf course, the furthest point she could have run to from were I shot her. I could hear people teeing off and was hoping she run out there. Well she fell down again but quickly got back up and ran like hell. I couldn't believe my eyes. I lost the blood trail and spent the next 2:30 Min's crawling around trying to find her. Never did! I did run into the big boar on my hands and knees (scary) I got film of the whole fiasco I took on my cam. This is the first hog I lost this year. I am pissed, she was one tough hog. I don't know she didn't run out of blood. I will post some video when I get it loaded.

No more Quartering away shots for me! I never lost one before doing a double lung shot down low. S#@t happens i guess! Just pisses me off big time. Here she is laying down under the pepper tree. Along time after i shot her. Right before her last run.
She was bleeding like a stuck pig! 😀
Makes you want to use some kind of poison like the bushmen and Amazon Indians do, to make sure it stays down once it goes down!
