Kemster, you might try a sow in heat on a scent wick hanging up. I have killed two big boars 2 years in a row using that stuff. They make a bee-line right to it
Just a thought
My dad came up with the idea to put grape kool aide powder in the feeders mixed with the corn. We have two feeders and they will walk past the one without kool aide to go to the one with kool aid. We use the Walmart knock off. It's $1.29 a can and one can will do a normal feeder. I have never seen hogs get so protective of a feeder, the big ones will chase the small ones out. The other thing is the hit it early before they would go to the feeder at night. Last deer season we used some stuff called C more bucks and that drove the hogs crazy too.
Watch out for fire ants
When I put either protein pellets or a flavored corn in my feeder, you can almost bet it will get invaded by ants
With all the rain we have water under our feeders I dont see ants as a problem. the feeder is hung from a red bay tree. they have torn the roots up so bad the tree will probably fall over soon. It works so we will keep using it. Why do the ants not get to corn soaked with kool aide?
I'll tell ya what put that corn in water for about 2 weeks then add your kool-aid right before you set it out and it will hold them for a while. take the jucie from the corn and put it in the holes you've dug and they will wallow for weeks

Set a post in the ground, and wrap it in carpet. Then put used motor oil on it. They will use it for a scratching post and frequent it allot. Or bury some soured corn so they will have to work for it. It will take them much longer to get at it. Keeping them there longer. "tup"
Like john said about the carpet, but instead of motor oil use used cooking oil you can go to little mom and pop resturants in your area and they will be more than happy to give it to ya
