If a hog can get its nose under anything, it is gone. A wild hog is as strong as any animal in North America-pound for pound. Its gotta be extremely tight and/or heavy. Shoot Mick a message. He builds as good a trap as you can ever find
In the lease I was in last year I found an old abandoned hog trap made out of hog panels, fastened together with cable clamps. I had been setting it and one day caught a whole herd in there. Before I could walk the 75 yards back to my truck to get a gun to shoot a couple, they found a weak point and were gone....I saw the last ones asss going thru the fence as I walked back
And if you gonna have a plywood door...make sure the plywood is in good shape and reinforced...ask Carlos how we know...
:help
Is Mick still around?
Ahh little late... I already dissembled my previous trap to replace it with cattle panels and going to wrap around with chainlink on the bottom to prevent piglets from escaping.
It seems like chainlinks get loosen after using it for a while even though all the poles are stationed with cements. Maybe due to the location where I put those poles... (Literally right on top of swamp haha) So I decided to rebuild the trap and reinforce little bit with stronger materials tomorrow.
ell, post some pi. of the new set-up. Unless it is a trade secret. :rolleyes
