Anyone kill a few hogs here and there that can save me the lungs? I will pay a couple of bucks for each. I need quite a few in the next few months. Fresh and frozen. For the gator hunt so you know I am not doing some weird voodoo ritual.

Voodoo ritual that's too funny
I'll keep it in mind,to save any.
Another thought was maybe one of the hog hunt places would allow you on a busy Sat. to pull them out of the gut pile. I don't think they would do it for you, and I am not sure paying them too would work. It's worth asking.

Sharkhog, are there any custom-kill butcher pens or slaughter houses around your area? They should have hog lungs. Inspection regulations may be such that lungs can't be salvaged, I don't know. Lungs used to be quite a delicacy, "liver and lights", nobody that killed hogs would let them go to waste. I've eaten my share, plenty of red and black pepper in the pot! Sounds like you must have a plan to enhance the gator huntin'. Treefarmer

I looked for one last year and could not find any butcher that would sel me any. Who knows. I do have two hogs I plan to kill before the hunt but I also know having a good stock of lungs can greatly improve chances to get 11+ ft'ers.
