Is there any public land around the palm beach, broward, st. lucie, martin, or brevard that are open season on hogs right now? I feel like I am hearing about all these guys bagging all these hogs and I can't seem to find anywhere that they are in season near me.
I think most WMAs with a small game season are open for hog hunting, too. Just can't use centerfire rifle.
Here's a map of the WMAs and other state lands http://myfwc.com/docs/RecreationActivities/HuntMap.pdf
Here's where you can view brochures on different places that tell the hunting info: http://myfwc.com/recreation/Hunt_WMABrochs.htm
I wasn't sure if they were, because I have looked at a million of those brochures for different WMA's and some will specifically say "Legal to take: Wild Hog, squirrel,...etc"
But most of them under small game don't.
I am mainly hunting Corbett, or Dupuis, and neither of those say wild hog under small game season.
Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I was born and raised in Martin Co and live in Okeechobee Co now, my parents live in St. Lucie Co. Try Allapattah, it is Martin Co. I day worked and hunted out there when it was privately owned and there are a bunch of hogs. I am 98% sure that it is huntable year around for hogs with a shotgun. Corbett is a mad house, too many people and buggies, and I am not a big fan of Dupuis. Let me know if you want to give it a try and I will point you in the right direction.
just read the FWCflyer on Allapattah, small game closed on Jan. 3. didn't see anything about hog hunting year around.
Any other recommendations for places in the area ??
