I had the same knife G.O. until lost. never stuck a hog but also think I'd do it with something a little bigger and thicker and fixed blade, for me.
.44 Mag Winchester 94 Trapper or .375 Cal Winchester 94 for the thick stuff and Browning BLR in .308 in the open....
in my very limited exp a 12ga slug, 45acp pistol (25' or less),7mm08, or anything from 22 mag and up that you can put in the right place as long as it has the right bullet loaded in it.
Sorry guys, didn't realize only the picture posted on my last post!I had a comment at the bottom, something along these lines:
"Older gent up at Trapper Dan's place was saying all you really need to kill and skin a hog is a good pocketknife! Of course he was being a bit sarcastic as we were all showing our fancy knives and talking about our guns."
I wouldn't mind trying the old legging and sticking technique, but I probably would prefer a stouter and longer blade.
If your still young. I am not, chase a 40 lb hog down grab it with your hands. Just hit it in the head with a tree and you done. Take it back to camp and grill the whole thing skined of course.
