Well.... it was time. My daughter was bugging me to take her our since her little brother got to go last year. I don't know why I waited to take her. As usual the time with her was great. I found a canned hunt in the area as I know her patience is not there yet. We were there a 6:30 am and in the stand by 7. We could barely see. The fog was SOOOO thick it was amazing.
From the tree the pigs got active when the feeder went off. We saw a couple of bruisers too. She was scared to shoot the .270 so I told her to pick the one out she wanted. We waited until the mottled color one came into range..... BOOM. The pig jumped and ran about 30 yards. Then it flipped over. When cleaning it we found it was a heart and lung shot. WOW. I cant believe it still ran.
The outing did not last that long. Thats ok. She enjoyed it. I told her that normally, its NEVER that easy. Canned hunt or not, its never that easy. LOL. Thats not why I went out there anyway. I saw her grow up. Maybe I was being over protective, I don't know. I should have taken her out there sooner. We both had a good time.
Then the question came..... "Dad, are we having pork for dinner?" That made me smile.
Awesome! She looks like she had a great time, and I bet the best part was spending the time with her dad. Hope she can come with you at the end of March to the get-together and get her another one!
She looks like she had a blast. It's always good to have a new hunting buddy. :toast
Congrats!!
can't wait to take my Granddaughter!! took her salt water fishing 3 years ago and she loved it.
