:no I really don't see Nashville supporting a major league team. My son just moved there and they are much more football oriented.
IF the Rays move, I can't really blame them. Who can imagine a team doing as well as the Rays and hardly selling seats??????????? When the Sox are at their worst, they always sell out Fenway! You guys can say what you want about ticket prices (still a bargain compared tp some parks)and the economy, but for the size of the population throughout the Bay, you should have MUCH higher attendance figures for a quality team like you have here. And you shouldn't need rock concerts to draw them in!!! :no :nono
Just my $.02

GB,
Not sure if you are familiar with the area of the stadium or not, but location IS the issue. The stadium is in ST Pete, not Tampa. St Pete consists of like 12 old people, so there is not really any local fan base. For me(I live on the very north end of Tampa in a community called Lutz), it is 43 miles one-way to the stadium. So, for a 7pm weeknight first pitch; I would have to leave my house by 4:30, 5pm latest, drive the 43 miles in rush hour traffic. Then if the game gets over at 10ish, it is 11(at best) before I get home. Just too much for a working family with a first grader. Then you top off the cost of tickets, concessions, and parking in this economy it is tough. MLB attendance was down across the board this year all over. Teams like the Sox, Cubs, Yankmees are gonna sell out regardless, they just have 100 years of historical fan base.

There is a place they could put the stadium called the I-4 corridor. It is where the fair grounds are. If the stadium was there it would be a much easier drive for all of Tampa, Orlando, still an easy drive for the St pete old folks, and an easy drive for the folks from the south. Its much different when you have 1million people that live within 2 miles of the stadium

I had 7 tickets give to me for the last home game and didn't have enought time to go.I should have put them up on here. The problem with the Rays attendance is that 1 they're in the ghetto.2 The cost of bringing a family to a game could easily get over $200.00 if you eat anything or drink a few beers.3 This economy Obama is putting us thru is stopping the majority of us from going.
