My soon to be 7 yr old son wants to play football. He's pretty athletic and had two good seasons in t-ball and he loves to hunt. My problem is that football is during hunting season, that's one of the main reasons I never played. I really want him to play but it would definitly interfere with my hunting plans. Seriously, this kid is quick and strong and very athletic. He made allstars 2 years straight and does great in karate. Any suggestions?
let him play. you will make time to hunt for sure. i cant wait til my kid shows an interest in something. most of the sports seem to fall during hunting season at some point, but you can manage. my sons first year in soccer was this past year and i missed out on lots of hunts. i had an absolute blast watcbiing him try to play ball. he wasn't much interested in playing soccer, mostly just talkin to the ladies. now its on to basketball and who knows what next, he said he wants to try baseball. we will see.
Do everything you can with them while they are young. Soon they will want to do things with their friends and will not have time for you.
my sons in baseball and it tears up turkey season.. and the beginning of hunting season.. BUT.. since i got my property to hunt and get hogs and stuff it dont bother me.. I just send my wife to the game when im hunting. Plus i usually sponsor the team so they know im good for being there when i can.
I guarantee you there would be games when I am planning on going back to Mo. I haven't turkey hunted in 8 years because of baseball. I'm really gonna have to think on this one.
