thanks for the info. seemed all those swamp people shot em. was a little concerned about ricochet if the muzzle was not just about touching the gator.

So initially I just have to pay for the license which is $272 and I get 2 gator tags or do I have to pay the extra $62 for 2 tags? My boss said he'd let me borrow all his equipment, maybe even go with, but he has to have a assistants license correct? So with that being said, the license and 2 tags would be $272? Hope I don't sound like an idiot, but sometimes I gotta get it Barney style.

Your initial trapper's license is good for 12 months and comes with 2 tags.
Tags after that ate 30 dollars each but sold 2 at a time, hence the 60 dollar cost.
Anyone else that wants to help you needs an agent's license.
Other people with no license can come along but they can't assist in any way, they can't do anything besides drive and take photos.
They can get in big trouble from literally just handing you a rope.

Hmmm...actually when you use the bangstick you wont tear the skull up if you hit it where you are supposed to. And if you are messing with 12+ ft alligators you sure as heck don't won't to be using a knife on it if it's alive. Use good equipment and be safe. i am waiting for one of these hillbillies to get killed from not bang sticking a good gator.
