Blows the whole scent free thing out of the water too
crazy as it might sound, the worst and LARGEST skeeters I ever saw were in Minnesota. My wife and I were hiking up the coast of Lake Superior near a lighthouse. I felt a sting while hiking on the rocks we were on. I was covered with skeeters that were 2-3x times the size of the ones we have in FL. Unreal!!! They looked like small birds!
Laying block footers on Connie Mack Island, 8:00 am in the morning, already 90 degrees heading to 100+, bad enough we were in the shade but being 3 feet below grade, those damn no see um's where so bad I swear they were going to pick me up, take me home and eat me alive. I knew I was in trouble when I jumped out of the truck, I was wearing long shorts and boots and all the laborers & tenders were wearing long pants, long shirts and mosquito netting over their heads, it appeared, 1 ) they had been here before 2) they were willing to die of heat stroke not blood loss....haha
Madison County, Florida while working on camp and hogdogging during the summer. At night when you go to check on the dogs, it looks like their skin is crawling they are so covered in mosquitoes. They yella flies are god awful up that way too.
