Looking for some insight on a wood burning stove.
We've lived in our house since 2002 and used this stove every winter with no problems. Last year we started having a few issues. I'm getting more of a smoke smell now when we use it and close off the flume. Also, there have been a couple of times where smoke has come out of the vents on the bottom front of the stove as if air forced it out. As of now all burning in the stove is being put on hold until I can figure out what the deal is. I just had the flume and stove cleaned by a pro in 2010 and he said everything looked good.
Any info is deeply appreciated.

the chimney would be the first place to look. could an animal have made a nest in the past 2 years? amount burned and type of wood could build up soot/crud fast. take a couple sheets of newspaper light em and hold them as high up the chimney or stove as possible to check the draw.

best wat to clean a chimney is with a chimney fire, but I wouldn't reccomend it. the amount of heat is unreal and it's like looking into the mouth of hell.
