Agreed, I've heard good things about the Springfield but you can shop at a local shop and talk the guys down a bit. That's too much.

For that much I'd find an all steel used Sig P220 in 45, its a polymer framed gun and Glock owns that market for quality and reliablity in polymer guns! Besides you could get a used 45 glock for 450.
