So at my new house we have heavy clay base land so our water straight from the well (without the water softener) its just reddish, rusty smelling and will stain the toilets, sinks & tubs a reddish color (without a water softener) .
So i ran a hose from the spicket directly off the well and put a hose by the dog kennels for cleaning kennels & dogs drinking water.
Well i noticed that the water bowls were turning rusty red, and the concrete in the kennels were turning rusty also.
So i decided to run a pvc water pipe with a spicket and hose to the kennel But i wanted to tap off the pvc pipe AFTER the water softener going to the house.
So i measure 60' of pvc and elbows and couplers. I go to true value and buy the stuff. Fairly cheap.
Me and my daughter lay it out without glue, cut lengths and dry fit it all.
So now the fun comes Digging through clay. YUCK. 3 hours later full trench is dug around the bldg to the pipe i was to tap into to. So i get it all installed up to the tap in point. So i cut the pvc pipe to tap into and the water goes flowing. CRAP i forgot to empty the holding tank on the well.
Now i have a flooded trench. Crap had to dig a NEW trench to drain the old trench. 5 hours later its done and i have a sprained wrist from digging.
Hope the dogs are happy.

Sorry about your wrist but I bet your dogs appreciate good clean water.
THAT IS A good story. I quit that manual labor stuff years ago. The dogs would get bottled water.
Still in pain. How you been warren?
