Hmmm, I was wondering why the greenpeace guys haven't loaded on torpedos? There is pretty much no reason to hunt whales, Japan has wearhouses of the stuff in cans going rancid because people there don't eat it except for the welfare recipients. couple businesses that don't make sence anymore, Tobacco farming and whaling

I was kinda with you until you said tobacco farming. Look at any intersection in a bigger city and you will see tons of cigarette butts on the ground. Plenty of people smoke tobacco.
As for the whaling not being worthwhile. It must be or they wouldn't be doing it.

Knowing the way Japanese and other Asian tastes run, they probably prefer their whale a bit rancid, and are just waiting for it to ripen up a bit! :drool:

Something I was reading a while back last year on th net. Its not something they want to call a lot of attention to aparently. No doubt some of those silly bastiges would sign up to help eat the last whale, but its like one of thos things that Just because you can doesn't mean you should. The japanese govt heavily subsidises the whaling industry and garontees a market.
As far as the tobacco thiing, yes a lot of people do, but its one of those products that has absolutely no positive benefit, ever. Also a lot of smokers seem to think its their right to smoke anywhere, and ignore the fact that to some of us is worse that a fart. Farts don't stick to you when you walk thru one.
