LOL, The one in Leesburg is DIRECTLY across from a tiny TSC...I felt a little bad for them.
they opened a TSC app 200' from the rural king in spring hill shortly after it opened. RK is getting the vast majority of the walk ins, TS seems lonely, small, & not well stocked. Not one of their better stores.
The crystal River store is going to be a the mall on the North end of town, going into the old vacant Sears building. Supposed to be open by September.
Now trips to camp are going to be 4 hours instead of 3 :clap
Buying old, large, unused bldg.'s on the cheap seems to be RK's M.O. The one in S.H. was the old K-mart that had been empty longer than the 11 years I've lived here. I thought it would end up getting bulldozed. I'm sure some major repairs were needed. New opening stores always seem to have 22's, for a couple of hours anyway, so be sure & get there early opening day.
We went to RK yesterday. It is a haul from here to go, but we wanted to get out of the house for a bit. And since I just re-did my chicken coop I needed to get a bunch of stuff
I was quite disappointed, and hope this is not a trend of how the store actually is since the "newness" wore off".
SOme things I noticed
* No kids clothes whatsoever. Even in the mens stuff, there were no mens small that would fit my son
* tons of $70+ Under Armor stuff
* Chicken feeds are the same brand that my local feed store carries, and slightly more per bag
* Corn was $9 bag...50c more a bag than the feed store I get it at
* Stall bedding was in smaller bags than TSC for same money
* No more ammo than the local Walmarts carry and no real bargains either
Here is the one that really irked me. The baby chickens were in cattle troughs out in the open, instead of inside a fenced in area like TSC. Big signs above the troughs to not pick them up. People were picking them up left and right. Kids were picking them up and they were screeching bloody murder from being squeezed. There were dead chicks in at least 2 tanks. I couldn't really see in all of them because there were so many people hovering around and picking them up. They had a tank with baby turkeys that looked just like white leghorns or white plymouth rocks. I saw kids pick up a chick out of one tank, walk around and put it in another tank. No employees anywhere to be found to regulate it
Not really a good visit, and I won't be making anymore special trips to go there. They need to tighten up
