So a friend of mine who also does flooring calls me because he needs help..
So im like sure.. hes like bring your "big maching" (the $7,000.00 maching that strips the floor) because he dont have one.. Dont know why someone would take a sand job and not have a big machine.. Whatever..
So i get to the job before him and i see right off the bat that he needs to finish installing like 20 boards on one room up to the sliding door. I turn on the table saw and get to work.. (done in 20 minutes lol) My friend is a perfectionist and that would of taken him half a day.
Then i look at the back room and the termites have eatin through the subfloor and into the wood floor.. there was a hole i could fit through .. LOL.. i said ok he can take care of that repair..
So i start roughing off with a 20 grit (yes old school moisture cure with wax on it) This takes me so long cause the paper was gumming up after 3 passes.. Now this was 1000 Sf. So it was not small. So i get all that done, then i have to do the whole floor with a 36 grit. Now ususlly after that i do an 80 and im done with it.. He says he likes to do a 50 then the 80.. LOL.. so i run the 36 grit, then the 50 grit , then the 80 grit..
6 straight hours of running this big machine.. It gets hott so its like walking behind a 300 lb toaster.. then when you are walking back you have a waist strap that pulls it back.. tiring as hell.. He made it worth my while paying me 40 bucks an hour so i didnt care.. but dam im tired as hell!!..
Sounds like work. At least you did it right!
Just can't turn down work when it comes. Sounds like it's time for a cold one. 😆
yea.. i didnt care if he wanted it cut 50 million times.. lol
