sometimes they wait until they have you in sight and aimed at you before they turn it on/hit the trigger, so by the time your detector beeps it's too late.get an ex cop car like mine. by the time they figure out im not a cop I've already seen them and slow down. it's saved me more than once.plus if they see you have a radar detector it pisses them off and they will throw the book at you and never cut you any slack. hide it if you can.
