Ok so today im driving my son to school and i get a phone call from my mom at 8 am. she says "we got another one" so i head to my moms house and see the possum in the cage.. Im like ok i guess ima just take him to the place where i released the other ones.. whatever.. So i pick up the trap and get to the back of my truck and put the cage in the pickup but i kinda slammed it down and guess what.. The freakin door drops open and it gets loose. It runs up the bed and along the bedside.. so i try to grab it by the tail... it jumps on the roof.. then to the hood, then i walk around the car to grab it and them it goes to the roof again.. so i reach up there then it has the nerve to do a balancing act on my ladder rack!!!.. lol.. so that i would not grab it.. so it jumpss back onto the roof.. so i put the trap on the roof (yea picture that redneck visual!!) and the dam thing goes into the cage.. so i grab the cage and as im putting it on the ground to lock the door it climbs out and comes twards my hand that is holding the trap.. so picture this.. im holding a trap and the thing is ontop of it walking twards my hand holding it.. so i put the trap up on its end and it climbs to the top of the trap.. SO im thinking ok easy he will fall down the trap and ill close the door.. yea right.. he just sat there and im just staring at it. So i grap a piece of quarter round from my truck and try to push his butt into and fall into the cage.. no go.. so check this out.. lol.. a redneck lady in a wheel chair literally "rolls up" and says how cut a poor litle possum.. LOL.. she grabs it by the tail and starts talking to it.. and them puts it in the cage for me and i lock it and bring it to where i let the others loose.. LOL.. what a morning... Allens cage has a redneck trap door and the possom took advantage of the redneckness and got loose.. lol

Before you go to release them, you need to drop the trap in a pond for about an hour. Takes the fight right out of 'em. 😆 😆 😆
You are lucky! Some of them are down right vicious and will charge you. I had to beat one with a stick while hunting. The damn thing wouldn't get out of the trail and was hissing and showing his nasty yellow teeth. A few swift blows finally straitened him out. 😆
