Well i was driving into my complex today and i saw a man in a wheelchair with his dog getting poured on. I see him all the time, He rides all the way to publix and back on his wheelchair. Well today as i was coming home from work i saw him on the side walk with his hand raised. I found that strange. Also found it strange that people were driving by and none would ask him if he needed help, It was pouring and his little dog "mr wrinkles" was soaked. He was also soaked. It was also very cold. So i pull up and look through my rear view mirror to see if he was making his way up the sidewalk. I saw that he was just there with his hand raised.

I make a u turn and pull up next to him and i say "Sir do you need help" He says "YES PLEASE". I ask him what happened and he said his battery in his chair died. He was SOAKING WET, his DOG was SOAKED and shivering.(His dog did have a rain jacket on). I then said well "ill take you home sir let me know where you live" He told me the bldg he lives in "pretty far" and i released the gears from his motor chair and pushed him all the way home.

It really hit home because my dad was in a wheelchair for the last 20 years of his life until he passed away. I was pushing him and holding my tears as i talked to him to keep him calm and mr wrinkles calm also.

I then got him into his house and he told me he could handle it from there and "thank you and god bless".

Well as i was walking back to my truck i was in tears. Couldn't hold it. I just imagined if that was my dad and none would stop for him. I got back to my truck and as soon as i got into the house i was telling my wife and couldn't hold back the tears. The thinking about all the people who drove by and didn't ask to help. I also was thinking about how long he was out there. I hope he's warm and ok.

Just thought id share this story. Im getting choked up right now just thinking about it.

Dude! You're amazing... Glad to hear that everyone out there is not totally ate up with the dumb butt and not give a flip about someone older and not even ask is they could help. Now you've made a dear friend with just a little selfless kindness, you know it's people like that loaded with money just looking for something to do with it. You probally won't be bless with his wealth but you will recieve a gold star in heaven.

We had a similar incident recently. Me, wife and son went to the movies one afternoon on a weekend. Leaving the movie, we were on the 3rd floor of the theater and could see a woman laying on the ground down at the bottom. We got down there and we were appalled at the people that were standing around just gawking at this poor woman laying on the ground, not knowing if she was seriously hurt or what. It was a sad reflection on what this country has become.
Turns out it was 2 older ladies and they took a bunch of their grand kids to see the same movie we did. She felt dizzy and fainted. My wife talked to the lady to "triage" her and see how seriously hurt she was. My son entertained the kids, and I moved the skinny jeans wearing crowd along..some kids were trying to take cell pics. I told them if they took pics they would have a hard time retrieving their phones...The movie "manager", who I don't think was old enough to grow facial hair had no clue what to do.

It was just amazing at the mobs of people walking by. The EMS got there and apparently she was hurt (I think a concussion from hitting her head). The manager of the mall offered us meal tickets for helping out. We refused and just told him we were doing what was right
