Got to love shit head neighbors. We have a couple neighborhood cats that like using the my garden as a dumping grounds. Traps are the best way to re-home them lol

CHOOSE YOUR BATTLES CAREFULLY. The way I see it you have a lot more to lose than them. Do you really want to worry about someone poisoning your dogs or burning your home EVERY time you leave? You are upset because her animals are off her property, but so is yours, you have a nice kennel I'd suggest using it ALL THE TIME, at least for now. Some trail cams around the place wouldn't be a bad idea. DO NOT approach her or engage her in any way without a witness & your smart phone recording the conversation. SHE/whoever started the ball rolling with animal control or code enforcement, let them deal with it, remember it was not you that called them & that will be on record. Let them have enough rope to hang themselves, you won't have to lift a finger & can't be blamed for anything. What you trap on YOUR property is one thing, OFF your property is an entirely different thing, but will only escalate things, and shooting cats/animal cruelty opens you up to a whole other set of problems with more people. If you are going to take some type of action, I sure wouldn't talk about it on an open forum, & would delete this whole thread. Fences make good neighbors especially ones with thorny vines intertwined. as of now you haven't done anything wrong & as you explained, your dog only barks at animals that come onto your yard, if you could get some video of cats in your yard, animal control may give you the green light for trapping them, or even do it for you. Chill & let this play out. As of right now it looks like everything is in your favor, try to not mess that up. Good luck.

Well now i put my beagle with the barking problem in a crate in the garage at night then bring her out to the kennels in the morning.

Since i set that trap there has not been one single cat on my property. Weird. Its been set for like 3 days now.

FlQuacker is 100% right about Nacho's post! Seems like we've all had our "fun" suggestions with the issue that CrOck1 is going through. Probably all of the suggestions will work but Nachogrande has given the best advice. Your close proximity to the neighbors and the fact they've already called different agencies makes it difficult to not be suspect when the felines begin to disappear.
We've discussed this a year or so back and it was about loose dogs on hunting leases rather than cats. I had posted then, that when we had a commercial cow/calf operation, we had a lot of trouble with dogs running the cows and calves. The sheriff at that time gave me this advice: 1st, Don't ask the neighbors to put the dog in a pen. 2nd, if they really were concerned about their dog it wouldn't be in our pastures. 3rd, since you mentioned it to the neighbor, if the dog goes missing you are a prime suspect. 4th, do what you need to do to protect your cattle and not mention it to anybody.
Times have changed sad to say. Now you can be in as much trouble for killin' a dog or a cat as you can with committing what we used to term serious crimes.
