We are about 50 miles from the Gulf, north of Panama City and have only gotten 8/10 of an inch of rain since this thing started. Over the last few weeks we have had sufficient rain for crops but not enough to fill the larger lakes and ponds to a normal level. Made a trip to Orange County over Fathers Day and that whole country looked dry compared to what it used to be. Maybe this Debby storm will get the water back in the areas where it has been so dry for so long. People tend to forget what Florida used to be. I noticed all the houses out west of Clermont that have been built on land where air boats used to run. Does anybody remember when Lake Sherwood had enough water to cover Hiway 50? That was a long time ago. Let's continue to be thankful for the rain, even if it cramps our lives, this old state needs the water. Treefarmer
we got slammed the last 3 days here in Spring Hill, waited too long to do the roof, awoke to a 4' hole in the sheetrock in my Lanai outside by the pool and a stained ceiling out in the garage. hope my game camera isn't taking pics of fish.
